New Zealand Nov 5, 2014

On November 5, we had breakfast at Kaeppeli's B&B, checked out and said good bye to our wonderful host Jill, and started our long drive back north of Auckland to Whangaparaoa. We took a different route back driving south through Tairua where we stopped for snacks and then drove west over to Miranda and the Miranda Shorebird Center. We walked out to the shorebird blinds where we could see a few birds and then hid from the rain in the Wildlife Center and ate our bag of snacks. We then continued our drive north of Auckland to the Whangaparaoa Lodge Motel. The Motel was very comfortable and across the road from a nice park on the Hauraki Gulf. We had dinner at a nearby Thai restaurant, Maison Thai Manly. Very pleasant dinner and evening in Whangaparaoa after a long drive.
